Pumpkin Spice Pumps Up Fall

March 11, 2020

On August 27th, the air once again became intoxicated with the sweet scent of pumpkin spice. Loved by teens and adults alike, Americans just can’t get enough of Pumpkin Spice. The nostalgia for the flavor is so intense that this year, Starbucks released their Pumpkin inspired syrup earlier than ever before, according to Fox News.

Starbucks also has some new pumpkin-related items on their menu this autumn, including the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. “With customer excitement for PSL (pumpkin spice latte) sweeping the nation each fall, we wanted to create a new beverage that combines two of our customers’ favorite things, pumpkin spices and cold brew,” said a member of Starbucks’ design team, Matthew Thornton. Also to return this fall are Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins and the Salted Caramel Mocha.

Despite the craze for the trend, the early release date did receive some backlash. Dylan Dreyer, an anchor for the Today Show, said, “At least wait for September! August is not fall for anyone!”

Whatever your opinion is on Pumpkin Spice, Starbucks tries their hardest to create an excitement for fall, drawing in customers from all over who crave a little taste of autumn joy.
