March 11, 2020
Colorado is known for being one of the best places to ski in Colorado and skiing is a popular winter sport that draws in many people each year. Many people love to ski, but the question is, which ski resort is the best?
According to zrankings.com, which shows a cumulative report of the snowfall at each Colorado ski resort, Wolf Creek ski resort ranks number one in terms of snow quality and amount. On average, Wolf Creek receives 387 inches of precipitation each year, and has a snow score of 86.1. Wolf Creek is the farthest south of Colorado ski resorts and is probably the most difficult to get to, but is definitely worth it if you love to ski lots of powder.
Winter Park is a close second in terms of annual snowfall, with about 347 inches each year. Although this resort is close to Denver, it is not super close to I-70, which makes for a longer drive, but also helps the resort preserve its snow.
The closest resort to Fruita is Powderhorn Resort, which is about a 50 minute drive, one way. Although Powderhorn does not rank very high in terms of snowfall, it is a great atmosphere and has runs for every type of skier.
Colorado’s 26 resorts offer a variety of snow for every person’s preference and there is definitely a resort for you.
