What the Rise of Skywalker Needs to be
March 11, 2020
On December 20th, 2019 we get our last look into the “galaxy a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.” Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker looks to put a grand finale on the story that was first introduced nearly 42 years ago.
But Rise of Skywalker has a lot to live up to, considering it is the last movie in a wildly popular series, this is how the Star Wars franchise will be remembered, and the last thing Lucasfilms needs to do is leave a bad taste in their fans’ mouths.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is being seen as a failure due to its very poor 44% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. If Lucasfilms doesn’t end with the most memorable movie in the franchise then the franchise could be seen as a series that peaked then dramatically dropped. But, if the movie leaves a lasting impression on the fans and viewers then the Star Wars franchise may be known as as one of the most memorable in history.
If the movie itself is anything like the couple trailers that we’ve seen then we’ll be in for a treat, but we’ve all seen that we can’t always base a movie off of the trailers. With the highly anticipated Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order video game coming out in November, it is easy to see how 2019 could be a great year for Star Wars, but just as easily could be the worst.
