Traveling and the Coronavirus
March 11, 2020
One of the hottest topics in the world right now is none other than the Coronavirus. With spring break and high traveling times right around the corner, it’s interesting how differently people react to the virus when traveling.
While some people may cancel their travel plans and stay at home to hopefully best protect themselves from the virus, while on the other hand, some people think the virus is nothing to worry about and plan to carry out with their vacation and travel plans. When asked how his family is reacting to the Coronavirus FMHS junior Cory Walcher said, “We’re not too worried about it, over spring break we are still planning on going on vacation with no worry about the virus.”
But due to cruises and colleges closing down and canceling trips it causes some people to worry about the virus and how severe it may be. As in Mr. Miller’s AP Environmental Science class he took a poll seeing what students were more concerned and least concerned about coronavirus on a scale from zero to five, with zero being I’m not concerned and five being I’m really worried about this virus. With the average student being around a two, there were some students who raised zeroes, along with that there were students who raised fours or fives. Mr. Miller himself said that he was around a two at the moment, but through what he read about it he doesn’t feel it is something to really worry about.
This shows how different people react to the Coronavirus. All in all, it kinda depends on how you and your family feel about the virus and traveling with many continuing to travel despite the virus, while others choose to stay at home. In the end, it’s all up to you.
