The Danish town of Copenhagen, Denmark, is adding a little bit of history to their everyday lives in the cutest way possible.

They have started to replace their traffic lights with Viking figures. The government, combined with the local museum, thought it would be a cool way to bring more culture into the city. If the green viking is walking, it means go, but if the red Viking is standing, it means stop. These adorable little light up Vikings are outfitted with a hat and a shield, according to MSN.

The unique traffic lights were designed to celebrate the city’s viking heritage. Copenhagen was originally settled by Vikings in the 8th century and every year the city holds a Viking festival to celebrate their past. But the citizens of Copenhagen wanted to add a small reminder of their heritage into their everyday lives.

The city’s starting with just 17 crosswalks, but are hoping to expand the idea as time goes on. Each light costs about $150 to covert.

This may not be the most exciting thing in the world today, but for the people of Copenhagen, it’s a great way to bring a little more culture into their community.
