Remaking Movies Epidemic

Movies are a very popular form of entertainment in the world today. Classic movies from companies like Disney are very important to the history and impact of movies. Disney has been around for a very long time and just released several remakes in 2019. Some of the most trending remakes are the “Lion King” , “Dumbo” , and “Aladdin” which are classics. The question many have been asking is why does Disney remake these movies?

Movie remakes help to keep the original movies alive. By adding twists or runoffs to originals, people are more intrigued to want to watch them again. For example, Maleficent is a movie made based off Sleeping Beauty but with a twist. Maleficent was a character in the original Sleeping Beauty but now has her own movies that are catching the eye of Disney lovers.

Other movies that have been remade in recent years are “Beauty and the Beast”, “Cinderella”, “Alice in Wonderland” and “Christopher Robin”. These movies were all originally made in cartoons but the remakes are made with real people. They remake them with real people to make them more interesting and so the audience isn’t just rewatching the original movie over again.

More Disney remakes in 2020 include Lady in the Tramp and The Little Mermaid. They have found that by making live actions of the original movies, they are making more money than coming out with new movies such as A Wrinkle in Time, Tomorrowland, and Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Even though they are making more money, it isn’t about the money for Disney; it’s about relaunching the originals for changing cinema audiences.
