Goodbye Mr. Morales!

Emma Pinnow, Reporter

It’s not entirely uncommon for people to get new jobs. However, when this means that they need to leave our lives we can’t help but feel a little bit down. Just before Winter Break, Fruita Monument’s Mario Morales announced he would be quitting his job as an English teacher here and becoming a mentor at CMU. In his place will be a substitute who will stay with us for the rest of the year.

He didn’t leave without saying goodbye, though! After break, he came back on the following Thursday and Friday to say goodbye to both of his clubs. He was the sponsor of the GOAL Club and the LOL Club. Both groups are being given to a new sponsor to continue their activities. Both spent lunch in his room on their respective days talking with him and saying goodbye. While he doesn’t intend to cut off communication, many of the students are upset they won’t be seeing him as much anymore.

Mr. Morales was a beloved teacher here and we are sad to see him go, but of course we are excited to see him move on to greater things in the future! FMHS will always remember one of it’s most caring, friendly, and fun teachers.
