The US presidential election of 2020 will go down in history as one of the most controversial and chaotic elections in United States history. States were flipped, voter fraud was claimed, and the state of Georgia had a runoff senate election which would decide the fate of the Senate majority for the next 2 years.

When January 5th finally arrived, nobody really knew what to expect. If Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock won the election from Republicans David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, the Senate would shift to 50/50 with the Democrat VP Kamala Harris to be tiebreaker, which would be vital for President-Elect Joe Biden to get things done in congress. After two months of heavy campaigning from both sides, the results came in. Ossoff and Warnock both won their respective seats in the Georgia runoffs.

With this victory, President-Elect Biden and the Democrat party have control of the majority of representation in the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the White House. Without this victory, the Biden administration could be constantly blocked by Senate Republicans from passing bills or laws, which would be a huge obstacle to try to get over for the administration. 

The country will have to wait and see what happens with this next administration on January 20th, and how the rest of this year will play out with a Democrat-controlled government.
