Why ‘The Batman’ is the Best Batman Movie
April 12, 2022
The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, is the best Batman movie ever made. Yes, I stand entirely behind that. No other film that contains the character truly showcases how dark this character is and how Bruce Wayne/Batman almost doesn’t seem human. I won’t spoil anything about the movie. Why is this movie the best portrayal of Batman?
Now we all know that Batman is supposed to be that dark superhero or toes the line between hero and vigilante. However, The Batman does a great job of genuinely feeling that he is this almost unknown person who puts a great sense of uneasiness in everyone he’s around. This is shown by how everyone reacts whenever they see the bat signal in the sky or when people see him face to face.
Lastly, the best part of the entire movie is Robert Pattinson himself. Now, this movie is set in the early years of Batman, with Bruce Wayne being in his second year of being the caped crusader. So he hasn’t quite adopted that true Bruce Wayne persona, as he’s broken and is completely detached from society. This version of Bruce Wayne almost doesn’t exist and is almost wholly, The Batman. This is best shown when he acts as Bruce Wayne, where even when he’s out of his Batsuit, he’s not doing Bruce Wayne stuff; he only does Batman stuff. What truly hits home of the true darkness of the movie and the character of Batman is that Pattinson doesn’t smile throughout the entire film, not even a smirk. Now, if that doesn’t feel dark, I don’t know what does.
The Batman is easily the best movie of the year and maybe the best film at the end of the year. And if you haven’t seen it yet, you have to-it’s a must-see.
