School Year Recap

Apollonia Middleton, Reporter

It is safe to say that the 2021-2022 school year was very eventful. Coming from a pandemic is a huge adjustment to make in life, especially in a schooling environment. Fruita Monument Highschool is and has been highly affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, and it has changed our schooling and education. Our school year began in August, we came back from a period of wearing masks, most students were thrilled at this. Many sports teams began to start training for the upcoming season, and our students began to settle in. At the end of September, we were fortunate enough to have a homecoming. This was a celebration for the student body as we weren’t able to hold school dances prior to this year due to the pandemic. The girls soccer team made it to playoffs, the girls and boys wrestling team took qualifying athletes to state, and more. This year has been an athletic and academic success as we are overcoming our challenges we had the year prior to it. FMHS also was able to have a prom this year, along with assemblies, pep rallies, and more. Though we have faced adversity, FMHS has risen above it and made this school year a great one. See you next year!
