On August 15, 2023, former president Donald Trump faced his fourth indictment. District Attorney Fani Willis of Fulton, Georgia, has not only indicted Trump but eighteen other allies of his.
Trump has been indicted three times in the past. One time in New York and two times federally. This time, Trump is not the only one facing charges. His team consisted of five previous lawyers, former White house chief Mark Meadows, and several others that forged documents and harassed election workers.
Trump’s team collectively forged false documents saying that Trump had won the majority vote in Georgia. They posed as members of the electoral college and voted illegally. They harassed election workers, intimidating them into saying the election results were false. According to AP News, Trump’s team had asked an election worker to “find 11,870 votes, just enough to beat Joe Biden”.
According to ‘Aljareeza’, Fani Willis will charge Trump and his team together. The indictment is ninety-eight pages long and consists of Forty counts. This indictment is to take place in February 2024.
Tweets from 2020 are being used as evidence against him. After the election results were released, he “used Twitter to make false fraud claims and spread misinformation about the election” source ‘Aljazeera’.
He and his team accessed voting machines illegally and tried to send in votes they made themselves.
For the 2024 election, Trump will run for president. If he is elected, he would be able to pardon himself from federal indictments but not state indictments.
