If you’ve ever been to a Bass Pro Shop, you’ve probably noticed the giant open-top aquariums that are stocked with local trophy fish. You may have even had the urge to jump into the tank to get a better look at these magnificent aquatic creatures. It seems one 42-year-old man from Alabama let the intrusive thoughts win when he decided to take a plunge into the frigid water.
The man started his shopping trip with a bang by crashing his car in the parking lot. From there, he decided to strip into his birthday suit and run into the fishing shop. He climbed up the aquarium and without hesitation cannonballed right into the tank.
Bystanders quickly took note of the rather odd addition to the display and called the police. When law enforcement arrived, the man decided to wash off under the waterfall before beginning to exit.
However, the man suddenly changed his mind when he yelled at the police officers before jumping into the water once again. When he eventually decided to end his swim, he climbed over the glass and plummeted onto the concrete below, knocking himself unconscious.
The police immediately handcuffed the suspect, which was not done without a struggle. The man was charged with multiple crimes including public nudity and assaulting a police officer.
Strangely enough, the Alabama Aquaman wasn’t the first criminal to carry out their devious plans at Bass Pro Shop. Last year, a Florida man stole a live 50-pound fish from the fishing store’s aquarium.
The amount of odd crimes committed recently at the Bass Pro Shop has led some to suspect something more fishy may be going on.
