As seniors jump into their final semester of high school they will soon be zipping through out of the halls into their next journey in life which may be college, jobs, or taking some time to figure out what they want to do. Wherever their journey may go one thing is certain: soon they’ll be out of this school and we will most likely rarely see their faces again. But what did they learn while they were here, what did they find important to themselves, and most importantly what is their advice to the younger generation of high school students?
After having the opportunity to discuss with seniors what their advice was I received answers from seniors Eliot Johnston, Sophie Thornhill, and Mollie Dare. Each gave astounding answers but I would first like to show Johnston’s response, when the question which stated What do you advise to the younger classes” he quickly responded, “Enjoy your time here you only get to experience high school once, find people that you can bond with and take risk or opportunities to achieve something that you are interested in.” Shortly after Thornhill was asked the same question to which she responded “Meet new people, join clubs, and find what your passions are, you’ll see a lot of cool opportunities open up and meet a lot of cool people.” Finally, Dare was asked the same question and she responded with a very similar answer stating “Try to approach new people, the friendships and peers you’ll make from high school are amazing and the bonds you will form can be so amazing.”
With a few short quotes from these students, we can gather one thing: high school can be an amazing experience if you put yourself out there and attempt to become the best version of yourself you can and along the way, you’ll meet astounding people that could change your life more than you expected.
