While it is uncommon for a woman to carry triplets, this story is even more uncommon as Tiffany Leonad delivered three baby boys on her neighbor’s front porch. According to KJCT, being in the early stages of labor, Leonard started driving to the hospital. Only she didn’t get far. Her water broke in front of her neighbor’s house where she could only think to crawl onto his doorstep and band on his door. This occurred on the morning of April 18 and the babies had only carried to 26 weeks, the boys were born 14 weeks early. Burt, Billy Bob, and Kikutaro were born at only 2 pounds each and made a memorable entrance to the world.
The police were called for reports of a screaming woman. It was 3 a.m., 32 degrees, and snowing, so it was an especially unusual night for there to be a loud ruckus. Medics asked if she thought she was having a miscarriage to which she replied “Here’s a baby in my pants right now as we’re speaking to each other.”
The boys were rushed to the neonatal intensive care unit and are healthy and growing stronger each day.
