Colorado is known for its beautiful landscapes and amazing camping options. So, here are some top spots to consider for your next camping trip.
Mesa Verde National Park is a great place to go camping, it is a bit aways, closer to New Mexico also by Durango but if you want a historical adventure this is the place to go. Each campsite has a fire pit, and/or grill, picnic table, and a gravel tent pad. When camping at Mesa Verde National Park you get to enjoy the park’s camping but also can learn about the rich history of the Ancestral Puebloans while exploring the ancient cliff dwellings.
Rocky Mountain National Park is located over by the Denver area and is also a great place to go camping because of the variety of camping, there are backcountry sites all the way to established campgrounds. All campsites have at least a tent pad, fire grate, and a table. There’s amazing mountain views and there are numerous hiking trails. This National Park is a must for any camper.
A more local camping spot just past Colbran is Vega state park. This State Park is not as adventurous as the others but is a place to try out. Each site has a picnic table, fire rings, and around the campgrounds there are vault toilets, and at the entrance there is flushing toilets, showers, and a playground. With its gorgeous views and large lakes it can be a very fun time.
