Throughout 2024, we saw music artists come and go, and watched albums blow up or get clowned on. The overall top music genre of 2024 was close between Pop and Rap, but overall Pop came out on top according to google.
This year we watched many artists gain popularity and come out with some hits, although there was one artist who got the title of “Most Listened To Artist of 2024”. She’s been in the music industry since 2006; this artist is Taylor Swift. She went on her Eras Tour for 2 full years and performed 149 concerts all around the country.
Jolie Trinklein, a sophomore at Grand Junction High School, went to the Eras tour in Orlando on April 11 in 2024. “It was honestly one of the best times of my life. I’ve been to multiple concerts and this one was 100% my favorite,”he said.
The overall headcount of her concerts of the years was around 10.2 million. She even released a movie of just some of her songs that people that were not able to make it to the tour could go see in theaters. They even showcased her short film at Picture Show in Grand Junction. Taylor Swift was a huge hit and all around the talk of 2024.

Another great artist that many people around Fruita High School agreed was their top and favorite artist of 2024 was Kanye West. After going around the school and asking people who their favorite artist was Kanye was a common answer.
“I don’t think that there was a single day I didn’t listen to a Kanye song this year like for real,” said freshman Shane Kelly . He also said that out of his 18,000 hours of listening on spotify more than 10,000 was Kanye West.
“Kanye West is literally that guy, I love him so much and he will always be my favorite music artist,”. Laikyn Kennady, another Freshman at Fruita highschool states. Overall the top 5 common artists that students around Fruita said were their favorite were..
