Five adults were displaced from their home on December 15th due to a major house fire on Belford Avenue in Grand Junction Colorado. Reporters say that there was a noticeable amount of smoke surrounding the area and could even be detected on the Colorado Mesa University campus.

The flames started around 1 PM that afternoon and the cause of the fire is still unknown. Resident Christopher Quarles who lives near the residence describes how “it was a pretty big fire. I’m not sure what could have caused that big of a fire that quickly because it was super fast and the whole house just up in flames.”

Officials say that further investigation will be necessary to determine the cause of the fire. Those who lost their home are currently being helped by The Red Cross.
