Fruita Monument is moving to remote learning

Dillon Gross, Editor

Due to the recent spike of Covid-19 cases in the county, Fruita Monument is transitioning to remote learning for the week of 11/16-11/20, the week before Thanksgiving break.

The announcement came to FMHS students during 8th hour, the same time an email was sent out to parents. There will be no school November 13th to allow teachers to prepare for next week’s classes. Teachers will contact students tomorrow, on the 13th, to describe what next week’s learning will include.

While students do not have to be at school next week, their attendance will be required at all of their classes. Classes will continue to be on a block schedule, with even classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and odd classes on Tuesday and Thursday.

The daily schedule is as follows and is also available for viewing on the Fruita Monument webpage.

1st/2nd hour: 10:00-10:30 am

3rd/4th hour: 10:30-11:00 am

5th/6th hour: 11:00-11:30 am

7th/8th hour: 11:30 am- 12:00 pm

Students will have their Wildcat period from 12:30-1:00 pm on Friday.

All students are encouraged to continue learning, and the school is hopeful that everyone will be able to return to school after Thanksgiving break.
