Rain

By Kailee Giddings

Rain, cascading through the sky

Water dropping like tears on a dark night,

Peaceful, but its strength you can’t deny

Its power we give a discerning eye,

Its thunderous noise gives a great fright.

Rain, cascading through the sky.

With the demand to control the sky,

A spectacle, an intimidating sight.

Peaceful, but its strength you can’t deny.

Storms shall pass by and by.

It smells of love and pain, a combination just right.

Rain cascading through the sky.

Like that of a far cry,

The horizon struck with electric light

Peaceful, but its strength you can’t deny.

I sit and watch as I say goodbye,

For the storm isn’t my only trouble tonight.

Rain, cascading through the sky

Peaceful, but its strength you can’t deny
