Up

By Sawyer Quint

One day I’m down

Tonka trucks all around

All the while I’m looking up

The next time I’m up

Playing with a pup

While running all around

I hear a new sound

There’s people all around

I see the path I took

My head’s in a book

The other kids give weird looks

And now it’s time to learn

There’s money to earn

I’m starting to burn

The time I have left in the day

I’m learning new ways

And now my mind is in a daze

I’m older now and need to look for a life

I ask her to be my wife

In this struggling strife

And now we are soon expecting a kid

And now I see

How a grown up needs to be

When starting to raise a kid
