Gwyneth Paltrow Skiing incident

In 2016 Gwyneth Paltrow was involved in a hit-and-run ski accident at the Deer Valley Ski resort located in Park City, Utah. An elderly man, Terry Sanderson, sustained several injuries from the crash. Sanderson claims that Paltrow was skiing downhill out of control and hit him from behind. Inversely, Paltrow claims that “Mr. Sanderson categorically hit me on the ski slope and that is the truth,” which she stated in her testimony on Friday, March 24. The crash resulted in lasting brain damage from being knocked out and brain injuries, four broken ribs, and other serious injuries. Sanderson is seeking $300,000 for his injuries, but Paltrow says it is because he wants to take advantage of her money. Paltrow claims she thought Sanderson was going to sexually assault her and he hit her from behind. She shouted profanities at him when the accident occurred. Accoring to the NBC article on the topic, “Paltrow apologized for the outburst, saying she felt violated and initially believed the crash might have been a sexual assault. ‘There was a body pressing against me and a very strange grunting noise,’ she said.” While there is much controversy on this, there were luckily a few eye witnesses.
Craig Ramon, one of the eye witnesses, testified that he heard a scream and saw Paltrow slam into Sanderson from behind. According to the NBC article about the lawsuit, “Ramon said he heard a scream and within a few seconds, saw Paltrow slam into Sanderson from behind.” Paltrow doubts his story, as he was 35 yards above Sanderson when the collision occurred. Her attorneys will testify this week once Sanderson’s attorneys rest the case.
The latest news is that Paltrow has won the lawsuit and will be receiving sum of $1 (plus legal fees). This lawsuit has been going on for a long time, and fans are relieved with it finally coming to an end.
